Ron Sparks, Chairman & CEO

Ron Sparks joined Avista Capital Partners in 2007 as a healthcare industry advisor. In this position, he spearheaded the company’s purchase of Boston Scientific’s Fluid Management and Vascular Access businesses. He now serves as CEO and Chairman of this new company, Navilyst Medical. 

Ron is a 30-year veteran of the medical technology industry. He served as CEO and President of Accellent, a former portfolio company of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners (DLJMB). Under Ron’s leadership, Accellent’s revenue tripled and all three of its major device categories – cardiology, endoscopy and orthopedics – experienced significant growth. Ron also led Accellent’s acquisition and integration of MedSource Technologies. 

He joined Accellent following a 20-year career at Smith & Nephew, where he served as President of the Endoscopy Division and as a member of the Group Executive Committee. Ron is a graduate of the Management Program at the University of Massachusetts and the INSEAD Advanced Management Program in Fontainebleau, France.
