Only a trained medical professional should remove a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) from a patient. Attending nurses should always consult the full directions for use for each product.
See Prescriptive Information regarding specific Navilyst Medical product indications, contraindications, precautions and warnings. Please refer to Directions for Use for more complete information.
A patient’s physician will discontinue a PICC line once he/she determines it is no longer necessary. Upon catheter removal, ensure that the insertion site is covered with a sterile occlusive dressing. This should not be removed for a minimum of 24 hours.
